The Wednesday Recital of 6th May presented two
young Scholars of the Academy, Jessica Ghatak and Koustav Roy. Jessica, a
Scholar under Shri Brajeswar Mukherjee and Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty began with a
vilambit khayal in Raga Multani. Next, she delivered two drut compositions in
the raga set to teental. Jessica concluded with a dadra in Raga Piloo. She was
accompanied by Shri Bivash Sanghai on the Tabla and Smt Rupashree Bhattacharya
on the Harmonium.
The next performer was Koustav Roy, a Scholar under Shri
Abir Hossain. Koustav began with an alaap, jor and jhala in Raga Shree. Next,
she played two drut compositions in Raga Kamod. Koustav concluded with a dhun.
He was accompanied by Shri Soumen Nany on the Tabla.
