The Wednesday Recital
Born on 7th March 1992, Alick Sengupta belongs to a family that has been dedicated to Hindustani Vocal music for several generations. Initiated into vocal music by his father, senior musician, Shri Ashes Sengupta, Alick has successfully performed at several concerts with his father from early childhood. This includes several performances in Germany during September - October 2010. He has also fared excellently in music competitions conducted in 2008 by Rajya Sangeet Academy, Kolkata and The Dover Lane Music Conference. As an outstanding child vocalist, he was awarded a government scholarship by the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India in 2005. He has been a Junior Scholar here since September 2009 , training under Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar. Alick Sengupta has also stood first in vocal music at the AIR Competition.
